The ideal dance-partner.

By Nick Kessing.

The perfect dance-partner doesn't exists, but you can get close. If you don't have ambitions to dance contests the requirements for a partner are not big, but if you want to reach the top it can be hard to find the right person to dance with. Here are some things where you must think about if you choose one.

1. The good lenght
If the boy is smaller then the girl, you're having trouble to get far. Ideal is as the boy is 10 cm bigger the the girl, it saves your back and it looks better.

2. The same ambitions
If you really want to get to the top, but your partner thinks dancing is just fun and nothing more, it's doomed to fail.

3. Looks
You don't have to be a supermodel, but looks are still important cause it's a jurysport and the jury will look at the total picture of a couple.

4. Feeling the rhythm and music
Feeling the music and rhythm is really important cause if you don't feel it, or your partner, you got a big problem. Onley if you're really motivated you can conquer that.

5. Feeling for dancing
Also important is your feeling for dancing. If you don't have any talent for it, no problem, but if you want to get to the top it's requiered.

6. Money
Dancing in contests is expensive and if you don't have the money to buy the clothes, do the trainings and private lessons then the contests will be over for you. Nice parents will help though!

7. Be complementary to one another
If you and your partner match eachother it can be nice, but when your partner is shy and you're a partyanimal, the picture on the floor is more in balance.

Go! back to the top...
